Raila Odinga's 100,000 Offer

Image
National Super Alliance leader Raila Odinga is promising a “way forward” to his supporters on October 25, just a day to the scheduled election he insists will not happen. In speeches during rallies in Bondo and Kisumu, Mr Odinga largely preached peace, urging supporters not to attack traders and supporters of Jubilee. He specifically mentioned the Kikuyu community, saying they have equally suffered despite sharing ethnic identity with President Uhuru Kenyatta, his competitor in the poll held on August 8. NO ELECTION He also mentioned the Abagusii, cautioning supporters against targeting them because of acting Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i, whom he accused of being high-handed on Nasa protesters. Mr Odinga accused the government of plotting to use the military to coerce voters to take part in polls. “I will give a way forward on October 25. But the President should know that there will be no election,” Mr Odinga told supporters at the Oginga Odinga P...

President Uhuru Kenyatta Condolence To Somalia

Image
Excellency and Dear Brother, I have learnt with the deepest shock and great sorrow of the tragic loss of 250 lives on 14th October 2017, following a horrific terror attack, in Zobe District, southern Mogadishu. All Kenyans join me in conveying to you, Excellency and dearest brother and through you, to the resilient, patriotic people of Somalia, my deepest and most heartfelt condolences, following this horrendous attack on our brothers and sisters in Mogadishu. The calculated intensity of this beastly attack, obviously intended to cause the most harmful physical, psychological and emotional damage, could only be aimed at one dastardly bigger goal – to strike fear and despondency in the hearts of the Somali people, thereby derailing them from the path of unity and progress which they have so gallantly chosen since your historic election in February 2017. Since then, it has been clear that the terrorists have felt frightened and threatened ...

Xtian Dela Fake Followers

Image
One thing you will notice among the Kenyans on Twitter recently is the emergence of a group of trolls only known for empty viral following. They run  followership  campaigns hoping to gain followers or reward the very foolish with non-existent followers. Leading this band is xtiandela.a self proclaimed "THEE TREND SETTER". To know whether someone has fake or real followers on Twitter, you just need to deploy a little common sense and study the followers and their behaviour. I have been analyzing  Xtian  and their distribution. First, let’s agree that you can’t tell XtianDela on street the same way you can tell, lets say Jeff Koinange or Larry Madowo! So he is not my popular gang. He ais not celebrity in any way. He don’t have any cause or business to their name worth mentioning. There is no way you’d be so popular on Twitter to have almost the same number of followers as the Jeff Koinange. In brief April 2017,Jeff Koinange hit 1Million followers on twitter an...

Mugabe In Zimbabwe WhatsApp group

President of Zimbabwe Robert Mugabe has the internet shook with his latest policy. According to a Press Release from the Zimbabwean government, the Ministry of Cyber  Security and Threat Detection and Mitigation announced new reforms for social media use in the nation. The strict policies require WhatsApp administrators to register with the ministry or risk criminal prosecution. Furthermore, WhatsApp group members who belong unregistered groups could also be prosecuted for their participation in an unlicensed group.  The new outlandish requirements have many online questioning how one of Africa’s most outspoken leaders plans to implement the new regulations. With new WhatsApp groups formed every day, the new policy will be quite the undertaking for the Ministry of Cyber Security.

Eric Omondi~am not beefing Jones-Its an advert

Star Comedian Eric Omondi and master lyricist Khaligraph Jones have played the Kenyan public. On the week of the 23rd of September Khaligraph took to social media to respond to allegations by Eric Omondi that older women support his rapper lifestyle. From then on, the duo has had a very public exchange that has had many questioning if the whole “beef” was choreographed. The two Kenyan celebrities were simply taking on creative liberties to promote a new app “ Olla .” Speaking to Capital Campus, Eric Omondi shared that the two are actually friends and harbor no hard feelings for each other. Speaking about the publicity stunt he said, “we are both artists, we’re both creative and in this industry, one must stand out…we did not want to just tell people to download Olla. ” Khaligraph who recently released the track “Nataka iyo doh” has been quiet busy with the weeklong beef that dominated local discussions on talk shows including Ebru’s Let’s Talk. Though fans have finally...

Does Uhuru Kenyatta Know Kenya is Burning

Image
Legend has it that while a fire destroyed the city of Rome, the emperor Nero played his fiddle; he was merrily ignoring the plight of his people. This weekend, it seemed to be Kenya's turn to get a taste of what official neglect and disinterest look like. As 28 Kenyans lay dead, murdered in cold-blood by terrorists, President Uhuru Kenyatta was wining and dining with the jet set in Abu Dhabi , enjoying the trapping of a Formula 1 weekend. But things are not always as they seem. The fact is, it is not that Kenyatta's government was disinterested in security. It is that its understanding of what constitutes a national security threat is radically different from what most Kenyans would expect. The events immediately preceding and following the massacre of bus passengers in the town of Mandera, near Kenya's border with Somalia, have amply demonstrated why Kenya's security is in the toilet. Days before the atrocity happened, county government officials...
